Thong Lo is built around Soi 55, which runs a long way north from the station and holds a high concentration of the city's best restaurants: omakase counters, wine bars, Japanese supermarkets and The Commons food hall. There's a large Japanese community here. How far up the soi you live matters: near the station you walk everywhere, past Soi 13 you'll be taking motorbike taxis. Traffic on 55 is heavy at weekends.
